Stop Exploiting George Floyd's Death!
Time and time again, “Students for Justice in Palestine” (SJP) has disguised their hatred of Jews under a veil of political disagreement. While this blatant racism alone is enough to provoke outrage, SJP recently took their efforts a step further by tainting a serious national issue with their own interests in mind.
On Facebook, SJP manipulated the death of George Floyd to demonize the Jewish people and pro-Israel students. This post labels pro-Israel advocates as the “supremacy” - equating all Jews to powerful, racist murderers. These LIES are intended to incite hatred and spread a false perception of Jews.
In an attempt to spread their hatred of Jews, SJP has minimized the severity of black oppression. The illustration implies SJP’s false narrative carries as much weight as the plight of the black people in America. Put simply, this is an exploitative, disrespectful ploy to conflate their own political views with our pain.
As black people suffer more and more during this time of chaos and uncertainty, it is appalling for SJP to take advantage of our struggle for justice to push their antisemitic agenda. They have done this multiple times with no sign that the opportunism will ever end.
This group’s list of offenses is long and disturbing, but one thing is clear - they are neither political activists nor innocent students debating social issues. These are rampant antisemites with no respect for true black advocacy. Don’t let these students warp true issues of racial justice to fuel hatred against Jews. Antisemitism and the appropriation of our struggle have no place in our society or anywhere else in the world.
